this brand new and long awaited follow up 12-inch single release by off the record is finally here! its been quite a while since their first release >robot gang ep< (sen-003) came out and took the dancefloors by storm. all the wait has been well worth though, as this talented duo is back on track with their trademark rough & raw drum sounds, killer breaks and bridges. such elements can be found directly from the starting track >tel aviv – japan<, which combines nicely minimalist techno / house sound architexture with simple, yet effective groove, and it grows humble and slowly to reach up its peak moment what goes like: splash! in ya face! there you have it! guaranteed to lighten up any dancefloors, it s dangerously explosive and has amazing flavour on the rocks! having said that, on demand producer and remixer ran shani (crosstown rebels, breastfed, cr2 records) was kind enough to contribute his absolutely fabulous and fantastic remix work of >in your mind< track. he pushed the track to the next level and came up with a truly club oriented pulsating dance track with extra crispy and tasty beats. rotating 360 degrees panorama effect on female vocals coming in as the track rolls further right after the break is surely enough to explode some minds on the dancefloors. watch this man out! perfect end to an extended play here is the only track offering a mini lovestory: >shes lost her mind> is a true and cold hearted, crucial story about a tech savvy clubgirl falling in love in a binary world full of zeros and ones, finding computers and turin machines sexually more attractive companions to better have fun with rather than getting accustomed to that old fashioned missionary position carried out by her human boyfriend. floating, dubby and rather melancholic, but definitely not a sad song! but one thing is for sure regarding that twisted story after all: someone has truly lost her mind somewhere along the way …

already supported by pan-pot, sebo k, anja schneider, kiki, karotte... simplicity is the name of the game on both tracks here. on >louder elvis<, the two unleash pure deep-house bounce over ominous, detroit-inspired pads, clean-as-a-whistle bleeps laser their way through a fog of dubbed-out delay. the tunes flow suggests a live session, with tumbling chords following their own whims, but theres nothing haphazard about it. this ones all about the afterhours, head down and moving steadily into the light. a vocal sample kicks off >radio graceland< but dont expect any bloated rock n roll theatrics. instead, van dowski and agnès lay down a slowly rolling groove with a latin touch and even a little bit of reggaetón lurch. hand drums dapple the landscape with faded colors, keeping the mood subdued—at least, until the beat gathers steam and bright, syncopated chords splash about. groaning analog noises push the energy restlessly forward, driving dancers to wild abandon: the track is as effective as it is unconventional. what else would you expect from two of switzerlands most uncompromising crowdpleasers

igor tchkotoua and dan duncan are true workaholics. not only are the two mallorquinos forming one of the most exciting techno duos of our time and play in the most famous clubs worldwide, they always make it to pop up in the studio to work on their releases on sonic society, wig records or like in the case of >deliverance<, the new 12inch on cocoon. >deliverance< starts quite cautious but the track becomes more and more complex – pig & dan give the dj a tool that fits the minimal raver like a custom-made suit. the b side is again one of those tracks that put a smile on your face. in >sly detector<, atmospheric techno sound unites with energetic celebration pleasure, just as we know it from tracks like >after ibiza< or >on to the beat<. the rolling hookline which has the necessary splash of acid is, together with the floating trance layer, adrenalising to such extent that nothing else remains to be done but to raise your hands in the air. the track was already a hit with many djs in 2007, and will be one – chosen in the right moment – on many dancefloors in 2008, too

italian chums love supreme are back with the follow up to rocquet, their debut from late last year. the elsewhere ep once again demonstrates their ability to combine a range of sounds from moroder style disco to detroit techno to krautrock and psychedelia while still retaining the ability to make the kids dance like little monkeys. you have been warned!
